Our mission
Our mission is to enhance the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of people living with HIV. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment where every person is valued, heard, and supported to thrive.
About Karumah Inc
Karumah Inc was founded in 1989 by Randy Cooper and Ray Cain, two people who provided light to others during dark times. Since those early days, much has changed, but one thing has remained constant - our unwavering commitment to supporting people living with HIV and those affected by HIV.
Karumah is a not-for-profit organisation funded by NSW Health, proudly serving the Newcastle region. Our services include case management, peer connection groups, educational events, and a flexible outreach program designed to meet people where they are.
We walk alongside our clients with empathy and understanding, offering practical support and genuine care.
Karumah continues to honour its founders by empowering PLHIV to live well and thrive.
